    Altered Healing is Nova Scotia's first Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) practice. Altered Healing is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and offers psychedelic therapy and guiding services in-person and online. Altered Healing believes in the power of plant medicine, mindfulness, and ancient wisdom coupled with modern psychotherapy, to unlock the healing potential within each individual.

    Angela, founder and psychedelic therapist, is a highly trained professional with over a decade of experience working with clients, as a psychotherapist and addictions technician. As a psychedelic therapist, she has over 500 medicine session hours.


    We value the inherent knowledge each of us has to know our own body and mind. Our intention is to meet people where they are, and allow them to explore their own path to healing. Altered Healing is intended to be a safe space for everyone to share.

  • My professional journey began in the field of addictions in 2012. I realized very quickly that substance use goes far beyond the substance, and from that point was curious about the "roots" of our experiences, rather than the surface level symptoms that manifest. This examination of others inspired my own internal investigation and inquiry regarding my awareness of Self, which has been the most significant work I've done, and continue to do.

    I am a natural existential explorer. I revel in questions that cannot be answered; being able to swim in the sea of Consciousness without a need to figure anything out, or arrive anywhere. My existential experiences have allowed me to unearth a trust in my inner knowing, or Truth, rather than beliefs that keep me limited and confined.

    It is a deep honor to witness all parts of self get expressed. Holding space with safety, nonjudgement and acceptance. This is the container I intentionally create and maintain when connecting with others.

    Let's remember who we are, and spark your innate capacity to heal & be well.

    Amanda is an experienced psychedelic assisted therapist and has been trained in psilocybin assisted psychotherapy with Therapsil.

    Amanda is trained in EMDR, and has extensive experience supporting clients working through grief, trauma, depression, anxiety and spiritual emergency.

  • She practices meditation with and without psychedelics, and continues to expand her field of consciousness and compassion, gaining deep insights into the nature of reality and her own field of Self. 

    She offers support for folks using psychedelics to gain more insight into their true Self. IFS or Internal Family Systems, is the ideal therapy modality for psychedelic integration, to deeply look inside, to see what parts or us are in the way of full expansion, which are often parts holding fear. Underneath the fear, are exiled parts that are a sponge for all the pain and limiting beliefs we learned in childhood and beyond. 

    In therapy for psychedelic integration, we unpack your experience, making respectful space for all the parts of us showing up, plus for the guidance we have received from the plant spirit. 

    In couples therapy, she creates that space for each person in the couple to learn to see the other again with love, curiosity and wonder. Our hurts will get heard, and healed, but deep listening. We can find a good way forward, from your true Self, to connect with each other. 

    If you are a psychedelic practitioner, I have some suggestions, how you can open up your inner space to be more loving, more safe, more connected with each other. 

    Maya also runs spiritual processing groups, where she creates community for mutual support and understanding of a vaster experiences, that sometimes scare us, or we don’t know how to integrate into our lives.
