I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of members of the Nova Scotia Psychedelic Society and allied community members. I am inquiring about your perspective and current knowledge regarding psychedelic-assisted therapies and the ceremonial use of plant medicines in Canada. This includes the evolving legal and regulatory landscape surrounding them in our country.
Research and clinical interest in therapies such as psilocybin, ketamine and MDMA continue to expand, particularly in the treatment of PTSD, depression, end-of-life anxiety, and other mental health conditions. Given this, we are asking to understand:
Your current awareness of psychedelic-assisted therapeutic models
Your position on federal and provincial regulatory pathways
Any policy discussions currently underway that relate to medical access, training, or oversight
Opportunities for informed dialogue between policymakers and clinicians
Your stance on ceremonial use of plant medicines and legal battles pertaining to them
